i think it's a sign

Though I'm not sure what I'm to interpret from the sign. I do have more info on North Carolina - but Tallahassee has just been so crazy that I don't think it's good to wait.

I packed Tuesday night, finishing up Wednesday morning and loaded up everything in the car ready for a full day of school, then a jaunt up to Auntie Marki's so that she could drop me off at the airport Thursday morning.

All has gone as planned until I go to reaarange things at said Aunt's house. An important item is missing: my wallet.

I look through all my luggage. No luck.

The car: no luck.

I now have to stop and think about where I last used something from my wallet. Wendy's. I used the drive through, so I must have still had it then. Then there was the gas station. I used a different card there, but that's the only place that I got out until I arrived at Marki's.

I head downstairs to find their phone number. No luck.

By this time, Marki is alerted, and we go out to search the car again. Blast and tarnation.

Finally we give up and I call home, hoping that Matthew answers. Thankfully he does and he's able to bring me my passport, and driving by the Chevron on the off chance that it's still there.

We meet him at Turkey Point (aka Thanksgiving Point) - no wallet. But now at least I can board the plane. (Side note: Matthew got pulled over in Springville, but the officer was kind, and let him off with a lower fine.)

I'm (I think understandably, too) grumpy by this point. But there's nothing I can do, except sleep, and so I do.

Thankfully my ATM card was in the car, and not lost, so I was able to access cash. phew. I got on the plane without too many difficulties (plane delayed because crew was still in Jackson) and was off. I learned I was not able to rent a car (aw, come on :) ) but I could still stay at my hotel.

My neighbors on the plane were all very kind. I even received a job offer. Too bad I'm not in food science, or I'd be set.

No lost luggage, but the descent into Atlanta really messed my ears up, and I think aggravated, no I know aggravated a cold / allergy stuffs I've had. Not too bad, other than the fact I can't breathe too well. Okay, done complaining.

I took a taxi to the hotel, not that big a deal. Today I traipsed around Tallahassee, walking about 6 miles I found out. I strangely got a light sun burn. I went to get some medicine, and to have something to do besides hang out in the hotel. It was kinda fun to be a pedestrian.

Then it was time to go to a chamber concert, and I got there (via taxi) and listened to the first, and then during the second (Loeffler trio) the power went out.

Can you see the plane in the power lines? Well, that was the cause of the power outage. Down the street they were about to start Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. Talk about irony. (Side note: pilot is injured, but nothing serious, and power is or will soon be restored.)

I left, and took another taxi home. Ate at undisclosed place where the food was not worth the money and waited an hour, and now, I'm off to bed.

As one of my plane neighbors put it, I must be going to do well here.

Either that, or really really badly. I mean, doesn't this make it seem like I'm tempting fate?
