happy birthday to ME!

Well, I'm here in North Carolina this week, enjoying the hotel's free wireless internet (absolutely fabulous!) and would like to share a few thoughts I've had at turning the big 25.

I realize this isn't old - I wasn't going to say that I am. I may jest about being 'so old' but I know I'm at the age I should be for my year of birth.

Anyhoo, what I have realized, though, there is a price to becoming more experienced: your favorite characters from Jane Austen.... guess what, I'm older than most of them now. Okay, but characters, I mean those dashing men that come a change a young woman's life forever.

Well, in looking over it again (last time it was quite late) there are only a few that are younger. None of the really matter to me except Mr. Ferrars.

The point is, that as I get older, said men stay the same age. I mean honestly, I know guys that are 25 but they are not an Edmund Bertram.

Okay, there are people like that.

I guess it's that I'm not a Lizzy, nor a Jane. Well, maybe Jane Eleanor Fanny mix??

Now this train of thought is becoming a bit depressing. Not too bad, because it is still my birthday day, and birthday days are good days.

I'll let you, kind reader go and make of this what you will. I'm off to celebrate at Chili's and Borders books!
