And no, that's not Delta Burke. Ugh, though I could use her to fix up this pink monstrosity that currently is my blog. Those of you with reader, consider yourselves lucky.
But really, I felt like posting my semi-angry letter/email thing to Delta.
They should consider themselves lucky that I do not condone swearing, and that this was written almost three months later. Ooo, boy, yes they should.
Begin letter/email thing:
This is not a comment. This is a complaint. I wanted to make that clear as this form that you have relegated consumers to does not make it easy to make that clear.
In March, my mother who lives out of the USA was coming to visit, and I was given only three days off to travel to visit her. So we booked the earliest flight possible to maximize the visit.
Delta cancelled the 5.15am flight from GSO, Flight 6338.
I was rescheduled on the next flight, flight 6223, leaving an hour later, which was OVERBOOKED.
I arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare, yet was held up in the checked luggage line. There were many of us booked on the 6.10am flight who were held up in the luggage line. All of us who had arrived in plenty of time to drop off our luggage and pass through security.
It seemed as if those at the ticket counters deliberately held us up 1) to correct the error of double-booking by 2) creating us as 'no-shows' at the gate, thus leaving Delta off the hook by creating the problem in the first place, and even making it unnecessary to compensate the affected travelers for their MAJOR inconvenience. There was not even an option of those free mileage bonuses for choosing another flight when there was a deliberated overbooking.
I will be submitting another complaint for a similar situation that occurred in December.
Similarly, I have not flown, nor will fly, Delta until these issues are rectified.
Heidi Reed
End letter/email thing.
Dang. I forgot to say that I have flown since then. Oh well. I will drive to Charlotte or Raleigh if I have to, to get on a different carrier. BOO Delta.
End rant.
