a pat on the back, i guess

Ohmigoodness!

Okay, for those who do not have phone-o-phobia, or the fear of calling people, may not understand. I'm actually quite jealous of those of you who do not understand. Someday I'll be cool enough to not fear the phone. (Unfortunately it sometimes extends to even answering, too. sigh.)

BUT - I forced myself to call all the YSAs for whom I had phone numbers to invite them to a last minute birthing day party, one day prior.

Before you get too proud, I only have nine phone numbers, and only four answered their phone, but I'm still shaking a bit from the act. OH, but I did leave messages. That's something.

Well, now you all know how pathetic your friend is.

Hopefully we can still be friends. Just don't expect a phone call anytime soon. :)

It's good to hear I am not the only one with phone-o-phobia. Sadly, my phobia got worse when I moved here...now when people answer the phone it's in a different language. Yikes! So here's a pat on the back...from me! :)

It is good to know that I'm not alone, either!
I'm not super-jealous of your situation. I've done the second language phone thing, and there were times I wanted to cry.
Good luck, fellow phone-o-phobe! You too deserve a pat on the back.

I'm tooootally the same! I am ashamed to admit it, but with the answering too. Sometimes I don't answer when I look at the caller id... not because I don't like the person! but because I just can't bring myself to talk to them at the moment...

I'm terrible. I totally understand. And I'm really bad at calling people back for the same reason.

Congratulations and happy birthday :) I hope your birthday is FANTASTIC! I'd be there if I could...

i don't enjoy the phone either, but i guess i've adjusted more to it after my mission. i've been accused of being cold and all business on the phone. when i taught at the mtc and took missionaries to the call center, i ALWAYS got sick to my stomach and had to go to the pee out of nowhere. funny how that works. aren't all girls supposed to love chatting on the phone for endless hours according to the stereotype? oh well.
